Meet Mother Jones, the "Most Dangerous Woman in America!" Quoting Jones’s own words, Bev York will impersonate Mary Harris "Mother" Jones who was a fearless labor organizer in the 19th century. She led strikes of coal miners, mill workers and child laborers. Hear her story and rise up for the cause of economic justice!"
Bev York is a local historian who is currently the curator of the America Museum, located at the Eastern CT Veteran Community Center, and an adjunct history instructor at Quinebaug Valley Community College. She has served as the director and educator of the Mill Museum in Willimantic and as the administrator of the Nathan Hale Homestead in Coventry. She serves as the director of Windham Arts which promotes art, culture, history, and tourism in the region. York is passionate about teaching American History by sharing primary sourced local and relevant stories. She utilizes role playing and interactive illustrated presentations to engage, educate, and entertain her audience.
